Dogs Love Care Uganda
Dogs’ Love Care Uganda is a grassroots initiative supporting dogs and their owners in rural communities where essential care is limited or non-existent. In Kayunga District, the work includes rescue support, basic veterinary care and vaccination efforts, and community education — while also helping keep children in school through direct support.
Why This Matters...
Children & Animals Struggling
Out in Kayunga, the realities were hard to ignore: dogs giving birth in unsafe places, dogs and families facing food insecurity, and a major gap in access to veterinary care and basic welfare knowledge. But what stood out just as much was how quickly compassion can turn into momentum when people decide to show up consistently.
What We've Done

Rescue and recovery for vulnerable dogs in life-threatening situations

Veterinary care + vaccination efforts to reduce preventable disease risk

Community education around humane care and responsible ownership

School support for children (fees/supplies) so more kids can stay enrolled

A staff room construction start — funded in part by donation sales — so staff aren’t forced to remain outside all day (this is one of those “small” upgrades that changes daily life in a huge way).
